Air Quality in Birmingham 2016

The pollutants of concern within Birmingham City Council relate to traffic, hence monitoring is focused on nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and fine particles (PM10). However, other pollutants also measured are ozone (O3), carbon monoxide (CO), Sulphur dioxide (SO2) and NOx which is a generic term for the mono-nitrogen oxides NO and NO2. Currently there are monitoring stations at seven locations across the city: Moor Street New Hall Tyburn Roadside * Tyburn Road Selly Oak * Stratford Road and *Acocks Green
